Prior to law school, I worked for 2 third-party administrators in workers’ compensation. Currently, I work for the law firm Garvin & Hickey, LLC, in Columbus, Ohio, representing employers of all sizes before the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, Industrial Commission of Ohio and the Ohio courts.
Since 2011, I have been working with a nurse to provide Medicare Set-Aside (MSA) evaluations. I also provide legal analysis and opinions for issues related to the intersection of workers’ compensation and general liability with the Medicare Secondary Payer statute and regs.
I am certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as a Specialist in Ohio workers’ compensation law. I am also certified as a Medicare Set-Aside Certified Consultant (MSCC) by the International Commission on Health Care Certification (ICHCC), and a Certified Medicare Secondary Payer Professional (CMSP) by the Louisiana Association of Self-Insured Employers.
In 2004, I was designated a “Rising Star,” by Law and Politics Magazine. In 2019 & 2020 I was named one of the Best Lawyers in America, by U.S. New & World Report.
